The Tesco Cup, now in its sixth year, is part of a wider commitment from Tesco to encourage youngsters to enjoy a healthy lifestyle and get involved in sport.

The Tesco Cup 2011 kicked off in Putney on April 16 with the first of its series of regional finals, attended by Arsenal legend, Nigel Winterburn.

The competition, which attracts over 60,000 youngsters from across the UK, takes place over a six- week period culminating in the UK Final to be held at St Andrews, home to Premier League Birmingham City FC, in May.

Over 3,600 teams from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales entered the initial stages of the competition in three age groups, U13 boys, U14 girls and U16 girls.

The tournament proved a most inspirational and worthwhile event of which we was proud to be involved with again this year.
