Andrew Dark – Director
Andrew has had a distinguished career in the evolving world of technology and in particular leading the design, build and distribution of solutions that allow businesses to engage better, improve communications and ultimately interact and enhance trading levels with consumers. Leading the development of global social networks around sports personalities and entertainers with New Era Digital is the latest incarnation of his skills.
Andrew joined New Era after leaving mobile phone company mBlox where he was CEO and led both a turnaround in the company’s financial performance and advanced the business IT into the heart of mobile payments and social media application space. As a highly respected industry leader, with considerable experience in leading major companies with mobile payments and trading capabilities, Andrew brings a huge amount of experience to his new role with New Era.
Prior to joining mBlox as CEO, he was Chief Executive Officer of London based DataCash Group Plc (purchased by MasterCard for £360M). During his tenure at DataCash the company grew from its market capitalization on the day of his appointment of £45M to over £325M and increased profits 7 fold. Prior to his leadership of DataCash, Andrew was the Chief Operating Officer and Group Sales and Marketing Director at Dione Plc, a payment terminal manufacturer that was sold to a foreign purchaser for $114M. Andrew has extensive, international experience of high volume transaction and payments markets and has served as Retail Sales Director for NCR and other leading technology companies.
Andrew also served as founding Chairman of Microsoft’s ActiveStore initiative in Europe, Middle East and Africa and he is also a non-Executive Director of ZBD Displays Limited, a world leader in the design and manufacture of zero powered, wireless, shelf edge labels.
